This policy explains what the Alcocheck kiosk and website do — and don't — with data.
We designed Alcocheck to be privacy-friendly by default. The Alcocheck experience does not ask for your name, email, or any account, and does not identify you.
When you take a breath test, the kiosk generates a random, anonymous nickname (e.g. "Tipsy Otter") and your score. This is kept only on the kiosk device to power that night's on-screen leaderboard, and it is cleared automatically each morning.
Your result is also encoded into the optional "brag card" link behind the QR code so the card can be shown on your phone. That link contains only your score, the anonymous nickname, the time, and the venue name — no personal identifiers. Sharing it is entirely your choice.
If you use the photo booth, your photos are uploaded to our storage so we can deliver them to you via the QR link shown on the kiosk. Photos are images of people and are treated as personal data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the photos you asked for, and they are deleted automatically 7 days after your session. Do not photograph others without their consent.
We use your photos for marketing or advertising only if you separately opt in at the kiosk. That consent is optional, is never a condition of using the photo booth, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing privacy@alcochecker.com — we will stop using the photo going forward, though material already printed or published cannot always be recalled. Withdrawing consent does not affect use that took place before you withdrew it.
Payments are handled by the payment provider (e.g. Swish). We do not store your card or bank details; the payment provider processes those under its own privacy policy.
Where we process any personal data, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection. Because the Alcocheck flow is anonymous, we typically cannot link a leaderboard entry back to you. For photo-related requests or any questions, email privacy@alcochecker.com.
This website may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic. The kiosk itself does not use advertising cookies.
For any privacy question or request, email privacy@alcochecker.com. We answer data-subject requests within one month, as required by the GDPR.
